Motorcycle routing by Valhalla (OpenStreetMap). Times follow speed limits, not live traffic. Obey road signs; routes are suggestions.
Reports are pinned where you are now and announced to you when you come back this way. Police marks are shared with other riders when the original Grok server is connected. Sharing other hazards with the whole community needs the optional group server.

Say “Hey Cyrus” and watch “Last heard”. If it stays empty while the mic dot is on, the phone’s speech engine is not delivering audio: use the Talk button or fully close and reopen the app.
Finding feeds near you…
These open the providers’ own players (OpenMHz, Broadcastify). RYDEVOX doesn’t rebroadcast any stream. Some states restrict scanner use while driving: check your local law, and keep it low so you can hear traffic.
Can
Cannot (needs a native Android app)
The recommended next step is a native Android wrapper with real phone permissions. The steps are in docs/ANDROID_APK.md in the project files.
Your voice address book. Say “Hey Cyrus, call John”, “text Mom I’m on my way”, “WhatsApp Sarah” or “email Dave”. Stays on this phone.
Android asks you to choose contacts each time; RYDEVOX can’t read your whole contact list or keep it in sync. Numbers open your dialer, texts and WhatsApp open with the words already written, and you tap Call or Send.
Cyrus already does every command with no account. To chat about anything, he needs a free Groq key. It takes about a minute and costs nothing.
The key is stored only on this phone and is sent only to Groq. Free Groq limits apply. No key? Cyrus still does commands, math, units, time and Wikipedia, and says so instead of guessing.
Or say “Hey Cyrus, save this as home”.
Enter your bike’s full-tank range and when to warn you (in miles or km). RYDEVOX counts GPS distance since your last fill-up, warns you, and finds gas along your route.
Say “Hey Cyrus, call Mom” or “call 817 555 0123”. RYDEVOX opens your phone’s dialer; you may need to tap Call. A web app can’t hang up or answer calls, so use your headset or the phone for that. Favorites stay on this phone.
A helper, not a guarantee. After a hard stop RYDEVOX shouts “Are you OK?”, flashes and counts down. Say “I’m OK”, tap, or ride off to cancel. If you do not, it alerts your contacts with your location and shows a Call 911 button with your exact coordinates. A web app cannot text or dial by itself (the Android app can, if you turn it on below), cannot run with the screen off, and needs signal.
Stays on this phone. It is only sent if you switch the line above on, and then goes to the people you chose.
Needs a Supabase project and a Twilio account that you create and pay for yourself. RYDEVOX has no server and holds no secrets: the Twilio keys live only in your Supabase function. Setup: docs/SOS_SERVER.md. A secret (service-role / Twilio) key is refused.
Nothing here is on until you switch it on. It still needs signal and GPS, can false-alarm on a hard stop or a dropped phone, and can miss a crash.
Calling and texting by itself, answering and hanging up, and a screen-off crash guard need the RYDEVOX Android app (see docs/ANDROID_APK.md).
Silent listening sends each phrase it hears (including background talk) to Groq for transcription, only while the app is open and the screen is on. Free Groq limits apply (about 20 phrases a minute; Cyrus stops sending when you hit them). Off: the phone’s own recognizer is used and Android plays its start tone.
Tap the red Record button or say “Hey Cyrus, record”: video starts at once. The first time, your browser asks for the camera; after that it doesn’t ask again (iPhone may ask again each time you open the app). On iPhone, sound is off by default because a second mic use can stop “Hey Cyrus” from hearing you.
Unhinged is blunt, funny and swears like a mate. Normal is polite and clean. Both always follow the same safety rules: no harmful instructions, and crashes, SOS and navigation are never left to the AI.
Off by default. When on, Talk records a few seconds of audio and sends it to Groq for transcription (about a second). “Hey Cyrus” hands-free listening always stays on your phone's own recognizer. Free Groq limits apply.
Without keys, “play
Road, off-road and e-bike rides score miles. Track rides are for closed courses only; they never count on public roads.
Only public "anon"/web keys go here, never a service-role key. Setup: backend/README.md in the project files.
Going live needs a provider account you create yourself; RYDEVOX has no server and holds no keys. Live never runs in Incognito, stops on SOS, low battery or when you leave the app, and never shows chat. Setup: docs/LIVE_SETUP.md.

Other languages. Say “Hey Cyrus” then the command in your language, e.g. “Hey Cyrus, llévame a Monterrey”, “Hey Cyrus, bring mich nach Berlin”, “嘿 Cyrus,带我去天安门”.
Hands-free. The mic turns on by itself when the app opens (after you allow it once) and stays on while RYDEVOX is on screen. The mic button at the top mutes it. It pauses while Cyrus talks, then resumes.
Browser limits. Wake-word listening uses the Web Speech API. Chrome and Edge on Android and desktop handle it best, and Chrome sends audio to Google, so it needs data. Safari on iPhone (iOS 14.5+) listens only while the app is open on screen. iOS stops the mic when the screen locks or you switch apps, and no web app can get around that. Firefox has no speech recognition, so type commands in “Where to?” instead. Voices for each language depend on what's installed on the phone.
HTTPS required for mic, GPS, camera, wake lock, and install.
Safety. Mount the phone and set the route before you roll. SOS opens the dialer or a text to your contact, and you tap to send. A web app can't place calls or send texts by itself.
